We from Multigroup are convinced supporters of natural materials, so we would not hesitate to recommend this flooring. As our mission is to facilitate your repairs and provide you with information objectively and impartially, we will present the advantages and disadvantages of this flooring.
Although the title is natural parquet, in this group we include the wooden floor. The difference between the two is that the wooden floor is made of wide and parallel boards 2-4 meters long and 7-9 cm wide and less often up to 14-16 cm. The parquet is made of small boards with a width of about 5 cm and a length of up to 35 cm, which are arranged in various configurations, including the well-known "herringbone".
Advantages:
- Unique feeling of coziness, warmth and friendliness;
- Pleasant to the touch surface;
- Excellent thermal and sound insulation properties;
- Possibility for sanding, which removes all irregularities and scratches and refreshes the appearance;
- With proper maintenance, its operation can last for decades without deteriorating its appearance;
- Easy daily maintenance - a vacuum cleaner and wiping with a damp cloth are enough.
However, we cannot ignore the
Shortcomings:
- It is easy to scratch and damage to the surface is visible. It can be injured even by heavy furniture or heels on shoes;
- Need for periodic maintenance - sanding and varnishing, which are not cheap procedures;
- Laying parquet and wooden floors should be done only by good craftsmen or companies, because otherwise the result is tragic;
- "Intolerance" to water - when wet it swells and shifts, which automatically implies rearrangement and other manipulations;
- Relatively higher price compared to other flooring.
